Natalie Tout has been exposed to traditional jazz for as long as she can remember. Her grandfather, Tom Downs, plays tuba with the Cell Block 7 Jazz Band. Her uncle, Bill Reinhart, is a bass player and leader of the Port City Jazz Band and Washboard Wizards.
Natalie's singing debut was at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee in 2007, when she surprised her family and friends by stepping onto the stage with Cell Block 7 and singing a jazzy version of "Mamma's Soup Surprise", a song she learned from a kid's sing-along tape when she was two. Since then she has appeared with Cell Block 7 at festivals and jazz clubs from San Fernando to Eugene, Oregon and points in between. Natalie took second place in the Modesto Symphony's 2007 Young Idol competition and has appeared in local productions of “Annie” and “Mulan”. In 2008, she performed with soprano Vera Mariner in Modesto Symphony's “Green Eggs and Ham” at the Gallo Center for Performing Arts. She made her second appearance at the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee with Cell Block 7 in May 2008.
Natalie also sings with the Creole Jazz Kings and has appeared with them at several gigs, including the Modesto, Sacramento, and Pismo Beach Jazz Clubs and a USO show at Castle Air Force Base.
Natalie has taken classical voice lessons since she was 8 and recently added piano instruction to her busy schedule. She loves movies including such classics as Sunset Boulevard and Mildred Pierce.
Natalie adores the 4 cats that she helped to rescue and hopes to become a veterinarian. She is 12 years old and lives in Turlock, California.
